Has anyone removed the float needle seat?

My first I tapped it and screwed a bolt in and pulled it out but I must have been lucky as the next 2 crumbled and I had to drill it leaving the hole a fraction distorted and the seat not a perfect fit.
Just wondering how others did this.

Hi Ken the needle seat and needle were worn on my Lapwing I bought a new needle from good old VS and following their advice I lapped it in using coarse and then fine valve grinding paste with good results no more leaking valve. Stuart.

I did consider that Stuart but there is only about 1/32" to get hold of.
They do a modified set up where you don't have the arm. Just a very long needle and a special plastic float but I don't know if it fits the MW carb.
Thanks Ken
