Bike for sale

Post  kerabo on Sat Dec 29, 2018 6:29 pm

I have been asked by the wife of a member who sadly passed away to try to sell his bike.
It's Newmarket area and I think a Falcon 81 that's been completely rebuilt. She said it was started not long ago but has a nipple detached somewhere.
It looks good.
I will keep her number so just either email the membership sec or message me.
It's listed in the FB Facebook page also.
Still awaiting s phone number.
She wants it to go to someone who will ride it and not just sell on.
Regards Ken

Falcon 81

Yes falcon 81 and from the early type guard would suggest it is 1958, i checked out the registration on DVLA website to confirm and it comes up blank, so it is either not registered , or registered on a different No. to the one on the bike ??
Looks a nice bike and should be more than 1000 and less than 1750 ( you could not restore it for the higher price) probably far less than has been spent on it !

Her Description

Falcon 81
420 UXK.
197CC PETROL
2000 ONO
It is fully restored and started ok before Christmas. There is just a cable that needs soldering near left lever. Just something Geoff was going to do before he got ill. Not been ridden for two years

More info

AH! i checked JXK not UXK, it would appear half of the "U" has fallen off to resemble a "J"
DVLA give it as 1959, registered April 2005, and not currently taxed, but curiously not showing as SORN either ? But shows Tax due October 2018, so looks like somebody might get sent a fine shortly for not taxing or Sorning it ?
I would have thought 2k was top of the tree ?, but as said before you could not buy a scruffy one and restore at that price ?
