Plug spanner

Post  kerabo on Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:42 pm

I am looking for an authentic looking plug spanner to fit the 18mm old style plugs. The new plug I have is snug on a 25mm spanner but not sure what the W size would be.
Are they all the same size?

Thanks Ken

Plug spanner.

I should have remembered that 25mm is about 1".
The spanner will need to be a box spanner to miss the head find.
But at least I can search for a 1" box spanner.
Thanks Ken

Box spanner

Best to buy an old box spanner, cut it off about 1 1/2" long and weld a flat handle to it, much easier to carry about than a long box spanner and tommy bar

Thanks for the replies.
I have found what should be correct on EBay and will just need to cut it and attach a handle.
Thanks Ken

Ok if you want to be pedantic 9/16" Whitworth is 1.010" don't think 10 thou on a 1" box spanner is going to be a deal breaker ?
