What is it??

Post  BenAndrews cruiser 68 on Sun Nov 04, 2018 12:12 pm

Hi everybody.
Im pretty new to this as this will be my first go at restoring the francis barnett. Im pretty sure its a cruiser 68. But I'm sure its not the right period engine although it is a 225cc 2 stroke single. Im looking for information on what the bike should look like as I have 2 sets of forks both different sizes and what wheels it should have. Any help would be greatfull

Yes it is a Cruiser 68 from 1954 the forks currnently in the frame with the 1/2 width front wheel are correct for this machine, the rear should be a similar 1/2 width, the other set of forks are from a later 200,/,250cc machine, they are the mark 2 type post 1961, your rear wheel looks to be a post 1955 type as well ? I may have the correct rear wheel if you are stuck ?

Thanks
