Powerbike back brake

The back pedal brake ' latch' on my 1950 bike has at some time been put together incorrectly and doesn't work how it should, there are 2 levers a spring and pivot pin something may be missing, how should this go together and how should it work its a pain pushing it backwards to. did it ever work well or just a gimmick?

They are a bit hit and miss at the best of times but once set up correctly do work.

Post a picture if how yours is assembled.

I assume you have a Powerbike 56 with the Villiers 2F engine.

Send me a PM including your email address, and I will send you an extract from Goddard's FB book (he was the FB service manager).

The trip lever has to be manually set to allow the bike to be wheeled backwards.
