Looking for fuel petcock for a cruiser 80 ?? new /old whatever ..alternative.  What  is the thread size ???

Your tank outlet will be threaded b.s.p. (British Standard pipe thread) but I cannot remember whether it is 1/4" size (but note that you need to look up a bsp table to check the thread size as against hole size).

The original pattern was the push/pull hexagon type with reserve lever, this also included a filter. At the moment I cannot see any new items available with the reserve.

People have used the Royal Enfield ( India) ones and apparently they are the same thread and cheap ?

Fuel tap

Most are as said 1/4" bsp. The other size is 1/8" bsp but that is a normal grease nipple thread so easy to tell.

BSP sizes

1/8" BSP is .383"0D
1/4 BSP is .518"OD
I would expect it to be the 1/4" BSP ones you seek
