Hi My 1953 falcon has developed a problem i could do with some help with.. It a bit naughty start ! It has has a good spark and will normally fire up no problem but seems to cut out after a min or so then its a pig to start. If I take plug out clean it and put some pencil on the tip it will fire up straight away then stop. I am thinking some sort of fuel problem but not sure where to start.

Also the vent should that be closed to start or just open. I have a feeling its flooding ?

Hi sounds to me like your coil is breaking down, when it stops is it hot? If you let it go stone cold does it start again? If so like I said money is on the coil.

Cheers I just had another a play and it started but almost stopped straight away. I had a look at the plug and no spark ?? It was sparking yesterday so could be the coil I guess. The fuel is getting through so it does point some sort of ignition problem me thinks. I am new to FB so just working stuff out,.

It has two 6 v batterys is that right ?
