Chrome parts

Post  Mcventures on Wed May 30, 2018 5:42 pm

hi there
putting the forks back together on a falcon 1959. i have the original parts but wanted some new ones . wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that stock new or refurbished chrome: fork embellishers (chrome cylinders which fit on the end of the top cover sleeve of the forks ), a steering stem nut, the top head cone dust washer and oil filler plugs.

alternatively does anyone know where i could get these re-chromed for a reasonable price. i got a few quotes online and they came back saying around £120 which i cant afford as its alot of money to me.

cheers
scott

It was a few years ago but mine came from Bantam John. It was cheaper than having mine rechromed.

A wise man told me once, "you are never paying too much, you are just buying it too soon !
if it is too much now ,it won't be long before it seems cheap"
, and compared with £120 for chroming , those embellishers look to have reached that "cheap" stage already ?

I thought someone would have made some from polished stainless .
It can't be that guard if you have the gear.
