Hi all i have found a merlin , i think? frame prefix is SL56883 with engine prefix 206a from these details can any body pin point year or even month of manufacture Thanks Alan

It will be a Merlin model 52 or 53, the 52 has direct lighting and the 53 has battery rectified lighting
S = 1952
L = Merlin ( model 52 and 53 in 1952)

Frame will be rigid, the swing arm model 57  had SLS frame numbers, the extra "S" denoting sprung suspension

The original engine will be a 122cc Villiers 10D and 206A is the correct coding for a 10D engine
