Dear Piston et all , the size in not a 14mm as that is the same size as a spark plug which is wrong ... you say "diagonal drilling to exhaust port ," is that in the decompressor already ? so I just remove the blanking plug and swop it over ? thanks david

6E decompressor

Post  piston 197 on Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:42 pm

The decompressir IS the same thread size as the plug on a 6E 14mm x 1.5mm pitch, there should be a hole in your barrel between the front 2 studs going down into the exhaust port, there should be a corresponding hole in the head which is drilled diagonally to the decompressor thread, when the decompressor is actuated the air path is to the Exhaust port,
Sounds like you have a head off something else or it has been modified to be blanked off with a blanking plug the invalid carriage and three wheeler heads had a 18mm hole opposite the spark plug, maybe it is one of these ??

What a star , you are exactly right ! it is an 18mm threaded hole opposite the plug hole , so now I need to find out is if there is a hole to the exhaust in the barrel , if so I just need to try and find a new head and decompressor , going to Stafford in April so might be lucky , thanks for that ... david
