Hello all! After 3 years of on and off shed work I have my FB starting 1st kick. However, much tinkering yet to do. Bullet points:
# Will not tick over
# I think it is '4 stroking' i.e. " BING! bm bm bm bm BING! bm bm bm bm"
# Carbutetor dripping and occasionally pouring petrol when engine stopped (I have read thread on this, possibly float issues etc?)
# Exhaust gasket blowing badly (need to get new, could this be contributing to above?)
# Very smokey. (I did a strong 2 stroke mix of 1:20 ish as wanting to get all the new engine bits nice and lubed).
The good bits:
# Electrics all working
# Battery charging
# Not too many bits left over! (Bought as boxes of bits)
# Looks tatty (which was what I was aiming for - just as well)
So..... very pleased with myself, but in need of comments, wisdom, expertise because I am at the Meccano, lego, airfix 'take it apart and put it back together' level of engineering.
All comments received with gratitude. Now just going out to the shed to start it up again.

well done Geoff,
Mine is still in bits large lumps.
It sparks at the plug that's all I have done in last 25 years.
Bought a recon 1H engine last year, its slightly different - subject of another topic maybe.
Have you overhauled the carb, new gaskets etc,
I would think a modern exhaust gasket would fit the port, measure it and look on ebay or telephone Wemoto parts.

the more I read these posts the more I am inspired to get it in one piece Very Happy
