Falcon 87 - couple of easy questions,

Falcon 87 - couple of easy questions,

Post  colk2004 on Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:06 pm

1. What colour should the air filter be as standard. I'm guessing it was painted silver but can someone confirm thats correct?
2. Has someone got a photo of the 'knob' that holds the front stand up at the back of the front mudguard? If I can see one close up I can copy it roughly enough to look the part. I'd not even realised that the mudguard stay doubled as a stand and wasn't just held with a nut and bolt!

Colin, Can't help with the filter colour but see pic below for the 'Knob' as you call it. The 'stay' is supposed to be fitted with the open side of the hole uppermost so the stand can be used but I don't trust the fitting (and won't ever use it as a stand) so I fitted the stay the other way up. The knob is basically a sphere at the threaded end to locate in the shaped part of the stay, then tapers to a smaller sphere on the end.

Steve.

Falcon 87 - couple of easy questions,

Post  colk2004 on Tue Aug 15, 2017 7:15 am

Thanks guys. As always prompt with a solution/answer to my questions. I've put the mudguard stay the 'wrong' way up as well, just in case it drops!

Stand

Colin

There is a chance I still have a stand that fits the front guard from when I was selling my spares. I promised it to someone but then lost his contact details.
Let me know. You need the special nut for it also but can't help with that.

Thanks Ken, I have the stand, its the knob, wing nut, ball lever thing I haven't got and not sure what it should be. The parts book I have just says 'Wing Nut'.
