Ignition lighting switch

Post  Mickdowning on Tue Jul 04, 2017 9:01 am

Hi , I need a new ignition switch for my FB Cruiser 70 AMC. (I think?)
Does anyone know where I can get one ? Is the Lucas one advertised ok to use as the lback wiring diagram looks different to what is in my manual for my bike ?

Thanks Mick

Ignition switch

From the picture of the switch I am assuming your bike is a Light Cruiser 79 with the AMC 171cc 17T engine ?
The switch is a Lucas PRS8 and is available as a replica in numerous places on Ebay as used on Triumphs, this was the only FB to fit this switch, replicas are cheap enough around 40/50, original ones work a lot better, but sell for usually in excess of 100

The wiring?

Post  Mickdowning on Tue Jul 04, 2017 11:32 am

Thanks JH that's great , yes I was looking at Lucas PSR8 ... it's the only one I could find.
How do you wire it though because the numbering is less then original switch?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mick

terminals

You only show the view from the bottom which will show terminals 12 to 19, terminals 1 to 11 can viewed from the top and are above the brown insulator you can see in your pics ! There are two rows of terminals.
