Merlin rear Stand

Post  NDHAERO on Thu Sep 22, 2016 7:51 pm

Hi, while working on my Merlin, I discovered it has the wrong rear stand. The stand works, but rests on the exhaust silencer, so not ideal, as all the weight is transferred through the exhaust.

Does anyone know of where I can source one from? Ideally an original, but if not, a reproduction one would suit.

Many thanks,

Nicholas Hill

Hi Nicholas, I don't have a stand but I used this drawing (not my work. Credit to Brian) to fabricate my own that worked out well. . . . Click here (will only work if signed in)
I hope it helps.

Kim, thanks for that. I think I will have to get one made. I came across the post before, and tried to contact the originator, as it mentioned he may get some more made up.

It seems a common problem with old Merlin's, they come with the wrong stand. It is only when you work on them that it become so apparent.

Many thanks again,

Nicholas
