13D Gearbox

Go down

13D Gearbox

Post  seipgam on Thu Apr 21, 2016 1:18 am

Hi all,
If I remove the RH end plate (not just the outer cover) on my 13D gearbox, is there anything that is going to fall out or spring loose? Nothing broken or loose inside that I am aware of, just chasing an excessive oil leak. In a previous life the end plate looks to have cracked/broken and has been welded, now leaking. I have come across another end plate and I intend to swap it over.
Anything I should look out for, or any special procedure or tools required?
Clearly I haven't had it apart before so its all new to me.
I have the books with diagrams so I have something to follow if needed.

One thing to note- the 1st to 2nd change is a bit lazy/clunky, anything I should look for there while I have the end plate off?

Any help or clues would be appreciated.

Cheers, Geoff.
