AMC flywheel

Post  speedtwinbri on Fri Apr 01, 2016 9:25 pm

I have just bought a 1961 Plover which is missing it's flywheel. Can anyone sell me one or advise me of an alternative such as from a Villiers engine, etc.
Cheers.

If it is 1961 it should have an AMC 149cc 15T engine, the flywheel is specific to this model, there is no alternative, sorry cannot help with one though

Thanks for that JH, I'll just have to keep looking. Do you know of a Villiers engine that would fit the Plover without too much chopping about?

engine swap

The Villiers 30c also went into the Plover, but you will need a front down tube with the Villiers mounting points to do the swap

AMC flywheel

Well I've managed to find a flywheel for the Plover but I need the nut that holds it on and also the woodruff key. I believe the nut is a left hand thread. Can anyone help please?

key and nut

I believe Villiers services 01384 265797 can supply both nut and key ?

I don't know much about this engine but I do know that Flywheel nut thread is Fragile so be careful.
I will send you a PM with a name that may be able to help even if only knowledge.
