8E VILLIERS ENGINE

Post  Babis kelafis on Sun Nov 22, 2015 10:28 pm

Hello, my name is Babis I'm from Greece and I'm trying to identify a bike that I got 3 months ago.
The engine is Villiers, I think 8Ε, the Engine No. is TM57476, also on the gearbox there are marked the digits   VR  AR  820
The frame No is 206389, there is also a "part No" 4582xMB.

Could you please help me to identify the frame or engine.

Thank you in advance.

Babis , the Gearbox number tells me it is a 4 speed albion with wide ratio ( trials gears) the engine No though is a mystery it should read ***A***** or ***B****** where each * is a number it is on the top of the front engine mount.
Again the chassis number you give is incorrect for a FB, it should consist of 2 or 3 letters eg TMS*****,
it is possible you are mixing up the frame No with the engine No and the TM No is the frame No ?? in this case it would be a 1953 Falcon
T = 1953
M= Falcon
S ( not 5) would mean sprung suspension
So it would be a 1953 Falcon model No 58 197cc with the optional 4 speed gearbox
The 4582xMB number is just the casting No of the headstock

Dear by piston 97 thank you

Unfortunately the frame No consists only the numbers 206389, and the engine No is TM57476.
Is there any possibility that the engine is a Spanish made Villiers?
The 4582xMB (casting No of the headstock) is it telling you something about the bike?

all Villiers engines had a coding *** A***** or ***b**** for 8E engines, as far as I am aware French and Spanish made Villiers engines ( not sure the Spanish actually made them, just imported them)were of several sorts, but not to my knowledge the 8E ??
Frame No is not for a FB without letters prior to the number to give year/model
I will send you my Email in a p.m. , if you can send me some pics, The casting No is correct for a FB ??
