Model 4 query

Post  keith.hodgenia on Thu Jul 16, 2015 4:34 pm

I took the model 4 for a short run the other day, nothing fell off and it didn't breakdown. Does anybody know what might be wrong?

model 4

Yes all of the above. As stuff drops off I drill and lock wire it, it's like Swiss cheese now. When I stripped down the mag after the Banbury fiasco I changed the back plate for one with a split bush rather than one with a split window in the bush, if that makes sense to you. The timing is now staying put, I've put a Champion D21 in it which is a colder plug, it is running a lot better when it gets hot now. Onward and upward.

My top tip

Tow a trail with a set of spares! Well I now know which bits fall of my carb and never leave home with out spare compensation tubes and mixture levers. It actual fells quite good when the ...... thing starts running like poorly and you look down and know what the problem is. I must try a new spark plug of the type you suggest might even manage to break 30mph
