Wiring Diagram Villiers 9D

Post  sirrombi on Sun Apr 12, 2015 9:35 pm

Hi. New member here.
My mate is computer illiterate and has asked me to post here for him.! He has a 1948 Acme Motorcycle.  He is in he process of restoring it. These were made in Sydney, Australia by Bennet & Wood using a Villiers 125cc 9D Engine. His father bought it new from them.
The magneto has been refreshed, but he is lacking a wiring diagram.  He believes that it uses the same headlight with switch as a Francis Barnett.  The headlight is missing. I think that a F-B Merlin also uses a 9D.
Does this headlight have an internal battery? He has been searching Swap Meets etc unsuccessfully for a replacement.
Any help with a wiring diagram, or links to any other information for a 9D would be appreciated.

Thank you for any help or advice

Australian ACME motorcycle
These machines were assembled and marketed by Bennett & Wood who built Speedwell bicycles and were also BSA importers for NSW. The engine was a Villiers 125cc 9D, the wheels were Dunlop and the frame was built locally. The Acme was phased out after the BSA Bantam arrived in numbers.
