wiring looms etc

wiring looms etc

Post  cruiser89 on Thu Jan 29, 2015 11:36 pm

Does anyone know where i can get a wiring loom for a 4T Cruiser 89 1964 fitted with the high output coils and twin switch set up in the headlamp, its an ex police bike.

Also regarding the alternator conversion on the 2T and 4T engines:

Peter Savage is not able to supply the parts he has been out of action since May 2014 following a stroke, i phoned him up a few days ago and spoke to his wife, he is still recovering from his stroke and is still not been able to make or supply any parts.

Is there anyone else who can make or supply the parts for the 12 volt conversion?

Cheers
Iain

Oh that's sad. I was wondering why I had no reply from Peter.
I wish him well.
I am pretty sure Villiers Services have conversions and also nametab .

Hi Iain, for a new harness you could try-

M E S Limited
Unit A2 Harris Road
Wedgnock Industrial Estate
Warwick
CV34 5JU
01926 499756

But i think you might have to have a diagram.
good luck Andy

FB Cruiser 89 with 4T engine and high output generator

Post  FB vincent on Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:55 am

I have never been able to track down the full FB wiring diagram for these machines, which is probably unsurprising since they were only sold in small numbers to the police. FB (then at Greet) never even published an update to the Instruction Book when this engine was fitted from 1964. A Villiers 4T generic wiring diagram with the high output generator is available, but this does not show the headlamp switching; however, the wiring concept is the same as the Wipac arrangement for the Cruiser 80 with AMC engine, the coils being connected progressively when the ignition and then headlamp is on - all coils are connected in the 'E' position.
