Colin,
were you not after one for a cruiser 80, a cruiser 71 stand is a different animal ??, if you need one for a cruiser 71 then I apologise ?

stands

The cruiser 80 stand is unique to the cruiser 80, the stands from a model 68,71,75,84 and 89 are not the same.
I did say I was breaking a cruiser 71, maybe you should have asked if it was the same as a model 80 and not assumed I would have contacted you and said I had one ,but it would not fit your bike????
If I had a stand for a cruiser 80 I would have answered your request, but as I did not have one there was not a lot of point.

Since we are talking about stands, I am re-building a basket case Cruiser 75. It doesn't have a stand, so I am in the market for one, preferably the 2 stage lift one, if anybody has a spare.

JH- I am no expert on these bikes, I know what I need for my bike, which is why I use this forum, instead of your long reply you could of just explained in one simple sentence. my parents were n't even born when my franny B was made,so excuse my lack of knowledge.
Most people I deal with are happy to educate me in the ways of the old English motorbike my scene.

You will see how your accusatory post above looks, suggesting maybe you felt I had overlooked your request for a cruiser 80 stand , when I did not have one.
I repeat had I had a stand for a cruiser 80 , I would have responded to your post, as it happens I responded to the request of another forum member who asked after a stand for a cruiser 71, which was the topic of this thread, and the stand I could help him with.
Hardly my fault , but sorry you took offence ?
As a moderator on this forum I could have just removed the relevant posts, but prefer to be open and reply so all can see my fairness in dealing with this response

further explanation

Colin above was my reply to your request "educating " you in "the ways of old motorbikes" and pointing out a cruiser 71 stand is not the same as one for a cruiser 80 ,( mostly because the Villiers engine and AMC engine have exhausts on opposite side thus the stands are mirror image of each other)
Further education for you if you wish ,a cruiser 71 stand and a cruiser 68 and 75 stand are the same , but unfortunately I do not have one of those either
