Trials - 1954 ISDT in "Classic Motor Cycle"

Post  Fanny Beebee on Sat Feb 01, 2014 1:24 pm

Once again "The Classic Motor Cycle" does us proud with five pages in the current issue (March 2014) .
It's a good article on Mike Matthews' restoration of  Dick Kemp's MHP 471

1954 ISDT

Post  piston 197 on Sat Feb 01, 2014 3:32 pm

The 2 sister bikesMHP469 and 470 are restored as well and Mike had a hand in both, Mike's is in the 1954 guise ,but without the special 172cc engine, the other 2 are in 1955 ISDT guise with the 197cc lump, after the 1955 George Fisher rider of MHP470 purchased the 3 bikes off F Barnett at a reduced rate and sold them off as a thankyou for his work's efforts
Chris Norton who owns 471 is talking about getting the 3 bikes together for a photo shoot at some time.

Thanks for that info John. It'd be lovely to see them all together again.

Trials Bikes

Post  MoscowFlyer on Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:34 pm

Hi, talking of trials bikes that have survived, does any one know if any of these nine pre war bikes are still around. PF 4321, WK 1716, Wk 1717, SC 464, WK 4214, WK 4349, WK 4891, WK 4892, WK 4893. I've had a look on the DVLA site, and they don't show up. See all the bikes below. Mike

Not only are they no longer about , none of the registration numbers are being used on any other vehicles at the moment.
