On the last printing of the clubs register of machines ,the lowest frame number and the highest recorded were only 120 apart, but this only reflects the 5 bikes listed,it would be fair to suggest the earliest frame number was probably 1001 and we have one recorded at 2098,so this would suggest an output of approx 1100 ???only a guess as there are no factory records, again the number remaining would again be a total guess, there are 5 listed in our register,i have personally handled 3 not in that list and there must be countless others, perhaps 10% of the original number ,but just a guess ??? Chris,?? as i have no details of yours?? then i don't know. The last print i have of the register is dated 2001 this included frame Nos E90-1978,1993,2009,2026,and2098,but you would have to talk to Keith Clarke, who is now the keeper of the register to see if this has been added to and whether your machines are included, sorry do not have an email address for Keith,JH

fulmar sports 90

Post  stuart elkes on Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:39 pm

Hi twostroke man, I will tell you what I have learned about numbers of sports 90's I may be wrong and would welcome any new information. Although the 90 was in the FB catologue for 13 months I have been informed that only one batch of 120 machines was ever made because of its dismal sales not helped by FBs failure to mention the fact it was fitted with a 4 speed gearbox. As JH says there are 5 on the club register 1in coventry museum painted in the wrong colourway that is red frame silver bodywork. 1 in Norfolk motorcycle museum.1 that was in a car breakers that was sold before I could raise the 800 asking price. 1I have been offered since which was actually JON127 the test machine ridden by Bill Currie, but the number had been sold. That would make 9 known to exist only two of which are actually ridden on public roads. If anyone has moe accurate information please put it on the forum. A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all members. Stuart Elkes.

120 made

Post  piston 197 on Mon Dec 31, 2012 4:50 pm

If the number is indeed 120 by strange coincidence the lowest one and the highest frame number on our register are 120 apart ? coincidence? or is that where the mythical figure of 120 has come from?? JH

Well as i said the 120 figure is as i thought fictitious, your lowest number of 1842 and highest of 2112 are 170 apart, immediately adding 50 to the 120 figure,,i have heard the number 180 quoted for production totals as well, but until we have some more numbers we know there must have been at least 170 ?? generally frame numbers started 1001 in the bike world, but for the moment we don't know, but it looks like we can discredit the 120 total now,JH

I see that there is currently a Fulmar 90 sports for sale on ebay. Does anyone know whether this is additional to those that are already known to survive? Sandy Ross
