Kestrel 66 light switch
Hi I am having trouble in determining if my light switch is faulty I have hooked up a 9v dry cell battery to check the wiring and whilst everything is as per wiring diagram I have power to terminal two (input) I have nothing to any other terminal regardless of switch position.
I am having trouble getting my mind around how the switch works any thoughts would be appreciated.
As the switch does not appear to be seperate to the cover sourcing a replacement may be hard.

Re: Kestrel 66 light switch
Thanks for your reply John, I had looked at that option but can't figure out how the switch is attached to the tin ware. When I stripped it before painting the whole thing appeared to be metal and on looking at the underside there does not appear to be the clip as shown shown in the e bay adds that would alloy for its removal, so I was of the opion that it was made as one or glued in some how. I notice there is available the switch (not the same) tinware and ammeter thats used on some models as a unit. May be I need to be more agressive with the paint stripper.

Bill ,yes i guess someone has glued it in then, usually there is a rubber "o" ring and a clip, best way to remove is to unbolt the panel ,remove the knob and switch centre, wrap a small socket in cloth and tap it out with a hammer from underneath so as not to damage it,they are a tight fit and the "o" ring tends to degrade and act like an adhesive,JH

well done
You see lots of switches shattered around the edge where a sharp blade has been used to try to pry the switch out. After shattering one this way many years ago i worked out the method of removal as mentioned above,i have never failed to get one out intact since,it takes just a few seconds to pass this info on,and it saves a lot of switches.JH
