external coil

Bob there is no wiring, you just bolt a 6volt A.C. coil to the frame,(available from NJB shock absorbers) to the frame, connect the wire from the new coil to the wire that runs from the points to the old internal coil, and stick the plug lead on the plug.
It is always best to remove the old coil and cut all the HT windings( thin wire) off it,until you reach the LT windings (thicker wire)and refit it on the back plate with insulating tape wound arond the LT windings.

Rosevilla, I fitted an external coil last year. If you search the general chat tab for 'first ride of the year' there are some photos and a description of what to do.
