6E flywheel coming loose

Post  Kelvin_20T on Sun Sep 04, 2011 6:47 pm

Hi,

My dad is working on a friends Excelsior Roadmaster, we think it has a Villiers 6E engine. The problem is that the flywheel timing does slip, I have lapped it in, the actual taper looks good, but the flywheel taper has 3 pronounced lines in it, which don't appear to lap in, any help would be appreciated.

Hi John

Thanks for that will give it a try, my dads a fitter by trade and wasn't too sure if loctite was ok to use. I will let you know how we get on.
